Thirteen Senses… “Las manos al fuego” por el dreampop británico…

Thirteen Senses es el nombre de este cuarteto de Cornwell, Inglaterra. Son una banda nueva de muy jóvenes músicos, amigos desde la época estudiantil, cuando tocaban en cuanto pub había. Para muchos, Thirteen Senses tiene algo de las melodías de Coldplay con algo del efecto de Travis, aunque para los delicados oídos de muchos, tienen la combinacion de Keane: música poderosa y la honesta y fluída voz de un vocalista que casi refleja su mundo interior.

Su debut fué el tema “Thru the glass” que lanzaron a principios del 2004, y rápidamente se pusieron en las playlists de muchas radios en el Reino Unido y quedaron en la retina auditiva de un gran número de auditores. Sorprendieron a las disqueras agotando la edición (limitada) del primer sencillo en menos de una semana! Para Septiembre del 2004 lanzan su álbum debut con 12 temas, del que destacan “Do not Wrong”, “The Salt Wound Routine” y por supuesto la maravillosa “Into The Fire”… con la cual han llegado a muchos países.

Sus integrantes son Will South (vocalista, guitarra y teclado), Tom Welham (guitarra y sintetizador), Adam Wilson (bajo), Brendon James (bajo), Will además es quien escribe la mayor parte de las canciones. Se anuncia el lanzamiento de su nuevo single “The Salt Wound Routine” para el 28 de Marzo.

In a year of great new albums and comebacks. I thought with no Travis or Coldplay LP released so far this year then it might be a dire year for bands but with the fantastic debut of Keane with Hope And Fears and the comeback by Embrace with Out Of Nothing I was proved wrong. I thought it would be a poor year, I was WRONG!

Ever since I heard ‘Into The Fire’ I knew Thirteen Senses would be big. With three singles (Thru The Glass, Do No Wrong and Into The Fire) so far from the album they are doing brilliantly. They haven’t had as much commercial as Keane had but they are just as equally great. A mix between Coldplay and Travis, they work a treat. With 12 songs that I cannot stop listening to they will surely be big.

My personal favourites on the album are ‘Do No Wrong’, ‘Thru The Glass’ and ‘The Salt Routine’ (But all the songs are equally as great of course). All these blend guitars with pianos with great vocals by Will South. I reccomend this album to Coldplay and Keane fans as they are similar to them.

I just can’t wait to see them live when they support Embrace later this year
